Scholarships
The Apprentice School Foundation partners with The Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia (PCFV) to award scholarships to individuals starting apprenticeships at The Apprentice School of Newport News Shipbuilding.
In 2023, The Apprentice School Foundation awarded eighteen $500 scholarships totaling $9,000.

Overview & Selection Process
Criteria
An individual may only apply if he/she has:
Applied to The Apprentice School of Newport News Shipbuilding
Received an official (written) offer for an apprenticeship
Been provided a start date for their apprenticeship
The Foundation's Education & Scholarship Committee will review each application, and scholarships will be awarded using a rubric focusing on the criteria below. Scholarship money can be used for technology (computer, notebook, tablet, etc.), school supplies, or relocation expenses.
